The Results of a Unified God-focus

Hello Leaders,

I want to encourage each of you n the great job we are doing with these discussions posts.  I pray that you are experiencing the manifold blessings of God as you respond to the questions. Keep up the God work.  We are all preparing by making room to receive the harvest on God’s behalf.

The question:
So, in Acts chapter 2 the disciples we all gathered in one place, waiting together, expecting together, to receive the promise of Jesus. I can only imagine what the mighty rushing wind sounded like and what the tongs of fire felt like. This I am sure of it was a sight they had never seen , felt, or heard before. The Spirit of God fell and everyone heard the Word of God in his or her own language. One truth in ways that everyone could understand.  This is what happens when the Holy Spirit falls on those who are waiting in unity, expecting from God and God alone. Now, considering you worship share with us how consistent it is with the Prototype of Acts 2. How unified are you with those (all those) who gather for worship at LFCC? What are you expecting? And, from whom are you expecting it? When the Holy Spirit begins to manifest Himself, how do you respond? What “truth” are you proclaiming as you respond to the Holy Spirit?

    Hello Leaders,

How unified are you with those (all those) who gather for worship at LFCC?
    – For those that gather in worship, I am submitted to be unified to glorify God, the majority of the time. I say the majority because I do not intentionally come into church to be selfish or say I am here helping the community in every worship service. Just know, I come willing to be used and serve, and allow God to help me in my weak area – for there are times when I am going through my own issues and it becomes a press for me to see others or help others to the fullness. Therefore, I am not walking in the full obedience that God demands and requires.
    – The press of not questioning or doubting others ability to hear and be used by God, but for me seeking my own soul salvation, seeking how I can be better today. And I know as long as I am submitted and obedient to the spirit of God for the purpose of the community and not for myself, I can be completely unified to all the worship services at LFCC. And as it is clearly shown in the book of Acts 2 that I have to press through; I have to be on one accord with all, and we shall experience amazing and supernatural things.

    What are you expecting?
    – I come to worship service anticipating the move of God. I come with an expectancy for me and others to be healed, delivered, and set free.

And, from whom are you expecting it?
    – I am expecting from God to manifest His presence and use all present.

When the Holy Spirit begins to manifest Himself, how do you respond?
    – I want to be willing and obedient every time, but I am not. Some time I allow my flesh to hinder me. Therefore, I find myself having to close my eyes sometimes not just feel more of God but to get closer to God. In closing my eyes, it sometimes allow the distractions to not catch my attention and detour/hinder the purpose of God for me to be connected and the community to be in synergy.

What “truth” are you proclaiming as you respond to the Holy Spirit?
    – I proclaim my areas of needed deliverance/healing, my areas to be better. To simple say, to speak the truth and to be used by God to my fullness and not to be fearful.

    Because of His Love,
    Richard

  2. Donzella Maupin says:

I have to prepare myself Saturday night and Sunday morning. I want all and everything God plans to pour on me because I need it very badly. I pray hard Donzella do not allow yourself to miss what God is going to do during the worship. I firmly believe if I be in position (armor bearer) and avail myself to assist during worship as needed I get blessed and the worshipers too.

The unity is there because I am in tune with the Holy Spirit. I am not saying it is all perfect without distractions and that is why preparing early helps me to bring my flesh under subjection. I am expecting to see God show up. God can show up either through praise & worship, a word from the Pastors, a word from a church member, praise dancers, the preached word or all of it. The worship is different each Sunday for example the singing of an old spiritual hymn which rocks. It was what I needed for me and I am sure the rest of the worshipers too.

The truth I proclaim at that moment is by responding with so much joy and thanking God for the miracles, signs and wonders that have taken place during the worship. It is a blessing to know there is power in being unified according Acts 2.

  3. Richard Wright says:

When we gather for the worship service, I find myself to be unified with most while in worship. I say most because my interactions with others varies from one individual to the other.
As God moves in our midst, on pray that I may be able to be used. As I grow in the ever-increasing understanding of the call , I realize, that in any given worship will tend to have an abrasion of sharpening my spirit. Even as as I grow and mature, my spirit may do likewise for others. I expect the move of God, and when it comes, I seek my role therein by praying and serving.
I have some challenges during worship however. I feel sometimes that I “zone-out” and that I miss small parts of the experience.
The remedy for this is a deeper relationship with God for me.
I now know I am healing and being delivered.

  4. Darlette Ambrose says:

How unified am I with those (all those) who gather for worship at LFCC? I am extremely unified with my brothers and sisters at LFCC. We are ALL there after a long and busy work week to set our hearts and minds on the Lord. To praise him and give thanks for all he has done for us and how he has kept us throughout the week. What am I expecting? I expect for the spirit of the lord to appear and fall and to have a Holy Ghost party. And, from whom am I expecting it? As previously mentioned I expect it from the spirit of the Lord. The Lord God All Mighty. When the Holy Spirit begins to manifest Himself, how do I respond? When the spirit of the Lord begins to flow for me it’s like running through the winners tape at the end of a race. I feel jubilant and free like I’m a winner and I’m cheering for the Lord. What “truth” am I proclaiming as I respond to the Holy Spirit?   Where the spirit of the Lord is there is FREEDOM and that is the truth that I proclaim. FREEDOM. FREEDOM to run, scream, cry dance and shout to the Lord because he deserves and wants it ALL

  5. Krystal says:

So based on Act 2, I thinking my unification starts with what I do as a part of the Praise and Worship Ministry. Completing my reading and SOAP assignments put me on one accord with the ministry. I believe I am sensitive to the spirit which helps me to be intentional about my interactions when gathering with the saints. I can recall waking up on Sundays with an expectation to give God whatever he wants from me as well as whatever he gives. This helps me to recognize that whatever he ask of me he knows I have it to give, whatever he gives he knows I need. In these times I expect supernatural natural, restoration, broken chains, mending a wounded heart. When the spirit manifest itself I respond by being an active participant in the worship experience. I try to be intentional about being alert and aware of my surroundings. But I also think it’s important for me to keep my kids quiet so that they aren’t a distraction to what God desires to do in that time.

  6. Yolanda Gardner says:

How unified are you with those (all those) who gather for worshipp at LFCC
I feel myself struggling here, I love all of God’s People but I need to become more unified with the members of LFCC. As studying this week’s lesson is more what I can do compared to what am I get from what is handed to me.

    What are you expecting
I am expecting a Mighty Move of God everytime we gather. When the Spirit is moving my heart is so eager to see the movement, as A Deacon I sometime witness a struggle with a member, this gives me the opportunity to Pray for That individual.

And from whom are you expecting it
My Expectation is from God and God alone.

When The Holy Spirit begins to manifest Himself how do you respond
I allow The Spirit to move within me and show me my wrongs so that I am able to worship God with clean hands and a pure heart

What “truth” are you proclaiming as you respond to the Holy Spirit
The Bible says that God does not want none to perish. So my service is to give the World the unadulterated Word of God. I walk daily in what called me from and my motto is no man left behind. I will share The Love of God Everyday and live a life that is Worthy of this CALL

  7. Gail Lawson says:

I expect the Holy Spirit to move from heart to heart and put us all on one accord so that we may enter the Hollies of Hollies together worshipping God as one. I response by submitting to the voice of God and surrendering to His power and will, proclaiming that He The (Holy Spirit) is the one that leads us into the truth of the word ofGod,and that He has been sent as the replacement of Jesus Chirst. Jesus said that we would do all that He did and more;and it will be done through the power of the Holy Spirit. Did we not see it Today? That is what’s expected by me, not by His power nor His might but by His Spirit.

  8. Danny says:

Today was a great example of a unified worship. I can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit dwelling in the mist. Its an amazing feeling when we are all in sinc during worship. When I glance around the sanctuary I see and hear everyones method of praising its a wonderful sight and sound. God’s power of love was in full affect. I definitely feel connected when we worship and I know that people are being delivered and set free during worship. Sometimes it’s for me and sometimes it’s for others but it’s always for GOD.

  9. Allie says:

How unified are you with those (all those) who gather for worship at LFCC?

I would say I could be better at coming to worship in a unified manner. In the praise and worship ministry I am doing the SOAPs and reading that is asked of me and I am in prayer for the congregation throughout the week. Even still, I know I could de better in keeping up with the leadership training and doing personal devotion.

What are you expecting? And, from whom are you expecting it?

Every time I go to worship I expect God to move. I expect God to answer prayer and do as He sees fit with His people. I look forward to hearing my own answers for personal prayer and to see God continue to answer prayers of those around me. I expect all these things to come from God and in His timing.

When the Holy Spirit begins to manifest Himself, how do you respond? What “truth” are you proclaiming as you respond to the Holy Spirit?

When the Holy Spirit begins to manifest Himself I respond with humility and worship. I am not sure of any other ways to respond. Sometimes that results in singing or humming, other times it is silence and listening to what God is saying to me through His voice or His people. As I respond, I speak back to God that which He has spoken to us. His word is a promise to us and that is what I want to see happen in my life. My worship is an act unto God, giving Him what He is due.

  10. Cleandre Foster says:

I would say I’m unified in worship with my family at LFCC. With having the mindset of everyone being important to the worship experience, I feel that we must be unified and know why we come together. My expectation is always for God to have his way, and to collectively commune with God. Its important that we commune with God individually, but it is equally as important to commune to with your brothers and sisters in Christ. Whenever the Holy Spirit begins to manifest himself, I can’t help but to rejoice because it is always great knowing that God’s will is being done among us.

How unified are you with those (all those) who gather for worship at LFCC? When i go to LFCC, my expectation is to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. I want to pour out my heart unto Him. As the praise and worship team ushers the body of Christ unto worship and praise unto the Lord, their is such an excitement that rises within me. Just being in the presence of the Lord with my brothers and sisters, worshipping together, it’s such an amazing feeling. It’s good to worship by myself but it’s so much joy, peace, comfort, holiness, oneness, when all of us are worshipping together unto the Lord. I know i will receive my healing, deliverance, and freedom from whatever i am dealing with.

What are you expecting? And, from whom are you expecting it? As i had mentioned, i am expecting the freedom to worship the Lord. The healing within my heart. The deliverance of the bondages that held me down during the week. Being in His presence is where i want to be. There is an excitement, yearning and desire for His touch and great love. I expecting it all from my Father.

When the Holy Spirit begins to manifest Himself, how do you respond? I would respond, total surrender and submission unto the Spirit. Allowing the Lord to have His way. Speaking to me and showing me what He wants to show me. Obey and yield to Him, total under His control to have His way. Allowing Him to search my heart.

What “truth” are you proclaiming as you respond to the Holy Spirit? The truth is knowing that He is in control. He is Sovereign. He is a promise keeper. He is my God, my healer, my deliverer, my provider, my prince of peace, my Way maker, my all in all. Worshipping Him with total surrender and humility.

  12. Kimberly Hill says:

How unified are you with those (all those) who gather for worship at LFCC?
I believe I am in unity with those we worship with. I prepare by praying for our Pastors, leaders, and the congregation during the week on on Sunday morning. As I pray for the mo e of God when we come together, I allow the Holy Spirit to lead me in what to pray for. It’s in those times that I see God answer prayer within the congregation.

    What are you expecting?
When I come to corporate worship, I am expecting to experience God in a greater way. I’m expecting to see Gods people delivered and set free, I’m expecting to receive a word from God that will confirm what I have been seeking God for, and I’m expecting to be used by God.

When the Holy Spirit begins to manifest Himself, how do you respond?
When the Holy Spirit begins to manifest himself, I respond through prayer. I say prayer because I’m either praying g for myself or others in those moments. When it comes to my response, it depends on what spiritual state I’m in. If I’m distracted or struggling internally with something, I’m calling on the Lord to help me to break through.

What “truth” are you proclaiming as you respond to the Holy Spirit?
God is faithful. During these times He is either affirming me or showing me my heart. My only response is worship and repentance, especially when God is revealing sin in my heart!

  13. Min. Darrin Bobbitt, says:

Here at LFCC every time we gather I am expecting a move of God. Our earnest drive to Worship God in spirit and truth sets the atmosphere that is conducive to the move of God. It is truly amazing because even in our corporate bible studies or our community outreach ministry such as USDA I’m expecting a move of God. Where lives are changed if not major, then little by little, step by step. And the way I respond is by giving God my overall attention and as a result, the Holy Spirit has stirred my spirit up. Making me wanting and willing to embrace these moments and allow God to help me examine, purge and fix myself. Then I will indulge in prayer for others and if provoked by the Holy Spirit my gift of tongue may come forth.

The truth that I am proclaiming is that God is real and that He is in the reconciling and healing of hearts business.
